Kerry and the Assault Weapons Ban

| | Comments (1)
SEN. JOHN KERRY: Police officers, police officers, begging the president all across our country, "keep this ban in place so we don't have to walk into a drug bust staring down the barrel of a military machine gun, of an Uzi or an A.K.-47."

(emphasis added)
Edited to add: From this transcript of NewsHour.

Section 2 of the amendment that was added to another bill to pass it in the first place says "SEC. 02. RESTRICTION ON MANUFACTURE, TRANSFER, AND POSSESSION OF CERTAIN SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPONS."

John Kerry, you voted for this law. Did you not know what it did when you voted for it, and still don't know what it did when you made this statement the day it expired, or are you lying about it now?

An even better question, will anyone in the media call you on that?
