As I've already said, I won't be voting for either Kerry or Bush, and I think I've made my reasons for those clear. For the moment, I'm actually thinking I'd prefer to see Bush back in -- a combination of keeping HillaryCare KerryCare further away(and the rest of his economic fallacies, and his gun control , and wanting to get this decline over with.
Thinking about it, though, there are some benefits if Kerry wins. Most of these are just being repeated from LRC.
- Republicans in Congress suddenly become fiscal conservatives again. Maybe start wanting to cut out some of these entitlements again.
- Keeps Hillary away until at least '12.
- Rush Limbaugh would be a hell of a lot more interesting with the Democrats back in the White House.
Bah. It's a mess, it sucks, they're both planners. They're both trying to plan large chunks of the economy, or other country's economies. (Health care is in their constitution! Doesn't anyone see the problem with this?)
I'm starting to really hope I can get myself a bit detached from politics after this election. I've done far too much jumping up and down yelling at the TV or newspapers, or whatever during this election cycle.
