I'm back in Chicago... The Windy City... The People's Republic of Illinois...
This city feels like it is one long blackout away from being a banana republic. There's already a personality cult, helped by all the signs saying things like "Mayor Daley welcomes you to Chicago!" and "Chicago, brought to you by Mayor Daley!" Seems like it wouldn't take much at all for this city to slide into barbarism.
Socialism... the PRI... The minimum wage went up to $6.50 here on the first. I probably won't be the first to welcome the new ranks of unemployed.
Maybe one day the people of Chicago, including the dead ones, will wake up and stop voting for socialists (of either party) and realize how much better of a standard of living they could
